করোনার কারণে বারবার পেছানোর পর অবশেষে কাঙ্ক্ষিত জনশুমারির সময় নির্ধারণ করেছে সরকার। আগামী ১৫ থেকে ২১ জুন দেশব্যাপী একযোগে এ জনশুমারির মাধ্যমে তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা হবে।

এ জনশুমারিতে জিআইএস (জিওগ্রাফিক ইনফরমেশন সিস্টেম) ভিত্তিক ডিজিটাল ম্যাপ ব্যবহার করে ডিজিটাল ডিভাইস ‘ট্যাবলেট’র মাধ্যমে একযোগে দেশের সব খানা ও গৃহের তথ্য সংগ্রহ করা হবে। এ জন্য ৩ লাখ ৯৫ হাজার ট্যাবলেট কেনার প্রস্তাবে অনুমোদন দিয়েছে সরকার।

ডিজিটাল পদ্ধতিতে অনুষ্ঠিতব্য ষষ্ঠ ‘জনশুমারি ও গৃহগণনা-২০২২’ সুসম্পন্ন হলে এর রিপোর্ট স্বল্পতম সময়ে প্রকাশ করা সম্ভব হবে বলে আশা করছে সংশ্লিষ্ট কর্তৃপক্ষ। পরিসংখ্যান ও তথ্য ব্যবস্থাপনা বিভাগের অধীন বাংলাদেশ পরিসংখ্যান ব্যুরো এ জনশমারি ও গৃহগণনা বাস্তবায়ন করবে।

এ বিষয়ে জনশুমারি প্রকল্পের পরিচালক দিলদার হোসেন গণমাধ্যমকে বলেন, আগামী ১৫ থেকে ২১ জুন সারাদেশে জনশুমারি অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। তবে এর আগে মাঠপর্যায়ে কাজ শুরু করব। সবার সহযোগিতায় একটা নির্ভুল জনশুমারি উপহার দিতে পারব। ‘জনশুমারি ও গৃহগণনা-২০২১’ প্রকল্পের আওতায় এ কাজ সম্পন্ন হবে। জনশুমারি ও গৃহগণনা প্রকল্পের মোট ব্যয় হবে এক হাজার ৭৬১ কোটি ৭৯ লাখ টাকা।

‘জনশুমারি ও গৃহগণনা ২০২২’ নামে শুমারি পরিচালনা হবে। শুমারি শুরুর আগে ১৪ জুন রাত ১২টাকে ‘শুমারি রেফারেন্স পয়েন্ট বা সময়’ হিসেবে ধরা হয়েছে। আর ১৫-২১ জুন ‘শুমারি সপ্তাহ’। শুমারির আগে যেকোনো সময় জাতির উদ্দেশে ভাষণ দিতে পারেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী।
